As the East Midlands only hospice for children and young people, Rainbows is a place where life limited children and their families can find care and support.

Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, which is the East Midlands only hospice to provide specialist respite, palliative and end of life care to children and young people with life limiting or life-threatening conditions and support to their families and friends as the Loughborough, was chosen by President Stewart Jones as his charity for 2017-2018.

The photo, taken on a typically beautiful sunny Loughborough day, shows Brother Stewart presenting a cheque for the magnificent sum of £2,412.81 to Loughborough Brother Tom Stanyard, who is a Rainbows corporate partnerships fundraiser. Brother Stewart was joined by his wife Mary and the current Loughborough President Sean Hale and his wife Dr. Clare Hale, who is a local GP and also the deputy Medical director of Rainbows.

Brother Tom said of the donation “To give you an idea of impact, this is almost equivalent to a whole days nursing care in the hospice, or could provide four months of arts & crafts materials for our play team and the children who love to create mess, mischief and memories”

The motto of the Arts and Craft room is “every child should have the chance to play and make memories”.

The Brothers and wives of the Loughborough Circle hope that they have been able to contribute to amazing work carried out in Rainbows in a small way.
